Chadd pointed out that there a lot of people who use VoIP in their homes already without even knowing it. Many home phone providers have been bundling phone services with internet packages for several years so, whether you realize it or not, you're probably already using VoIP! So why would it make sense for a business to convert to VoIP service versus having a standard phone and fax lines in their office?
Most businesses will realize the savings immediately by not having to pay for multiple phone lines. In the traditional sense, one phone number equals one phone line which in turn equals multiple charges on your monthly phone bill. Since VoIP allows for multiple direct dial numbers within one system, you’ll save money from the start. You can have more direct dial numbers for individuals without having the extra charges associated with a landline. Not to mention, VoIP is taxed differently. What business doesn’t love a tax break? Chadd pointed out that he's seen businesses save over $400 per month just by eliminating extra phone lines. That's almost $5,000 per year!
Since VoIP is essentially data that travels over the internet, how secure is it? Chadd explained that VoIP data is very hard to intercept since a hacker would need to intercept the live data en route. They would then need to have the specific knowledge and skill to be able to put thousands of tiny packets of information back together. Long story short, VoIP is a great way to ensure the security of your calls and data.
There's also the advantage of increased mobility - being able to answer calls from your mobile phone, laptop or tablet. You can literally answer calls anywhere making your office portable and giving your customers access to you wherever you may be.
